Also in Top Gun, what does "alert-5" mean? Is 'alert' a location or a state of readiness? Does the "5" refer to a location or a specific plane, or a state of readiness? Is there, for example, "alert-3"? Lastly, what is "Ghostrider" referring to? Is that a specific aircraft, or just any aircraft that the tower is talking to? Are there any good websites that have aircraft terminology?    Report
