Hi there,

Im choosing my GCSE options for next year, in two weeks time, and im just wondering what would be suitable, to help give me the best chance of getting into the commercial pilot's world. Im thinking of taking Physics, Geography, French, Chemistry and Stats. Is this fine or is there better GCSEs that i could take? Oh and im not botherd about course work. Thanks for reading =)

English Language might be a good idea.  When writing job applications it is important to have a basic knowledge of grammar and spelling.

English is compulasry, along with maths religion. So if i get B-A, in all these GCSEs, would i be fine?

If you go down the modular route I don't think that it matters what qualifications you have.  I have no A levels but passed my CPL a couple of years ago.  Physics would help with some of the papers.

People can say GCSE's are not important but the better the grades you can jam onto your CV the better your chances ultimatly in getting a job- anywhere, improve.

The choice seems to be sensible that you have taken above, I might have suggested "Mechanics" as opposed to stats and perhaps Chemistry isnt too important so perhaps take an easier GCSE so that you simply get at least one very good grade in something?

I got 7B's and 3C's in my GCSE's and my A-levels were terrible. All I do now on my CV is write 10 GCSE's grades A-C inc. Maths, English and Physics

Hi everyone,
i am 14 and have predicted grade of all A's /A* and am joping to take maths physics and geography at A level, will this be enough for an airline (such as flybe accepting frozen atpl's) to spot me once completed my training and have left with a frozen atpl ?

Once you've completed your training that's what FlyBE or whoever will be interested in. You could have 50 GCSE's and 20 A-levels but if you only partialled your IR but your competition passed first time they'll pick the other guy.

Personally I never put grades on my CV just that id passed them, if whoever you apply for is that interested they'll ask to see your certificates, but by that time you already probably have an interview which they'll put more emphasis on then whether you got a B or an A at GCSE

Be sure to get your Class 1 Medical as soon as you start your PPL training!

Have you done any flying yet?
