If you're learning in order to get a JAR PPL license then do you have to have the Class 2 Medical before your first lesson or before your first solo? I'd like to have a couple of lessons before I make a firm commitment and so would rather not have to pay for a class 2 medical if it turns out that I don't enjoy it. Thanks for your help.    Report

My comment I guess is more for the people who intend to go right through to professional ratings and the class 1 initial medical is quite stringent.    Report

I agree it would be devastating to find out after all those lessons that you can't get a medical but my GP says I should be fine getting a class 2 and so I'm not particularly worried.
