I am trying to bring together a group of people interested in forming a group around a new/near-new Cirrus SR20 (or 22 possibly) to be based at either Rochester or Biggin Hill. Surprisingly, the costs for running these beauts of flying machines are very reasonable and for a medium sized group (around 10ppl) then the monthlies could be in the region of £60-70 and hourlies at about £70 (for the SR20). The investment required does depend on the final group size, but it could be somewhere between £15K-£20K.
If you are interested in being involved in the formation of this group then please get in touch with me.
The above never took off sadly, so I looked for other opportunities to fly a Cirrus in the SE.
I am now contemplating signing up with City Flyer which is a shared
ownership, fully managed, scheme. Aside from myself, they require one
further person to sign up to order a new (or very near-new) Cirrus
SR22-GTS. The share is approximately £30K, with monthlies of £150 and a
dry rate of £66 per hour. City Flyer's website is www.city-flyer.co.uk where they can get a contact number (ask for 'Chris Brown').
If anyone is interested in the above then that is fantastic as it will
allow the group to form at Biggin and an aircraft to be ordered
immediately. I'm desperate to fly a Cirrus from Biggin in the near
future, so that would make me very happy
There is another opportunity if anyone is interested, over at
Stapleford. A group is forming based on 8 members investing £25K each,
from which a second-hand SR22 will be bought. If anyone is interested
in this, message me and I'll forward contact details of the organiser to you.
