Half or possibly third share available in my lovely nearly-new Pioneer 300, hangared at Upfield farm, Newport.
~70 hrs TT, 120kt cruise @18L mogas/hour (fuel only £16/hour!!), 4 hrs endurance, nice panel with Skymap III, Com, Txp etc, stylish leather/cloth interior.
Total monthly costs currently ~£250 inc hangarage, insurance, maintenance etc so third share would be monthly ~£85, with say £25/hour wet (including engine fund).
Aircraft's worth around £50K, shares pro-rated accordingly.
I saw your advert on the web site. Are you interested in renting the aircraft as a club would? or having none equity shareholders?
Currently flying Koliber 160 at Swansea. I have about 80 hours logged. I live in Caerphilly, so you will appreciate the hassle of getting to Swansea, compared to Upfield farm.
I usually fly 3-4 times per month, for about 2 hours per flight. I would like to fly more if the aircraft was more accessible. Also planning to go further afield this year (within UK).
Sorry about slow response, just seen your reply. Caerphilly to Swansea is certainly a trek by road!
I'm afraid renting is not allowed for a permit aircraft. Also ideally looking to sell a capital share, (although that may change in the future).
I believe that the Owner of a PA28 also based at Upfield farm is considering making non-capital shares available in his aircraft. Let me know if you're interested and I'll pass on your details.
Thanks for getting back to me Mike. Yes I would be interested in a non-capital share, and certainly one so close to home.
I think I need to make a visit to Upfield and try to make contact. I would be very grateful if you were able to pass on my mobile #, 07817 366979 to the owner.
My basic details are:
I have had my PPL since March 2005, I also hold night qual, though have not used it in the UK yet. I did the PPL in US. Like a good many I got fed up with trying to do it in 1 summer in the UK and the Cardiff club went under at the same time which didnt help. Since returning I have done about 45-50 hours P1.
Looking at returning to US later this year/early next year to do IMC. I am not looking at going the ATPL route, probably a bit long in the tooth for that now at 46 years of age, flying for fun is my goal.
As above I have done around 50 hours in the last year, and that was at Swansea. (108 miles round trip). If I could fly from a base closer to home, I would definately fly more and further afield.
If any more details needed I would be more than happy. Never flown a PA28 before,so that will be all good too. Looking forward to meeting you all at Upfield Farm.
Hi. My name is Allan Hutchinson, and I too fly from Swansea, but live in Bridgend. I would be interested in joining a group in the Cardiff/Newport area. I have aprox 106hrs, have flown PA38 Tomahwaks, PA28 Worrior's, Beagle Pup's, and Diamond DA40TDi's. I am like Ioan, not taking the professional rout, due to my age, 47, but I would fly more if the airport was closer for me.
Please pass on any information you have regarding shares around the above area's.
